Fashion Week Feature: London, Milan & Paris
So life has been crazy busy this last while...between settling into our new apartment in Dublin, getting back into the swing of college life and just there generally not being enough hours in the day... so apologies for the delay and lack of activity!
In my last post I looked at New York Fashion Week....this one I'm gonna give a quick run down of my favourite collections from the remaining 3 fashion weeks; London, Milan & Paris. Just so I'll have it covered, because if it I leave it much longer Spring Summer 2015 will have come and gone!!
Here is London in all it's glory..
Simone Rocha
First up is Simone Rocha, presenting her collection in an ancient church with the idea of 'the fleeting time of youth, beauty and love'. The collection included very chic widows dressed in black. Rocha also had mesh over-layed with red blooms, which she refers to as 'tulle tailoring'. The finale featured nude and white dresses with a second wedding vibe.
Moschino
I've been obsessing over Moschino ever since the release of the Autumn/Winter collection inspired by Spongebob Squarepants. Once again they have aced it. The Spring Summer collection for 2015 inspired by the one and only Barbie, is jaw dropping. Once you get over the initial shock of the massive blonde wigs, it's quite impressive. The collection consisted of a range of daywear, evening gowns, summer wear and swimwear, all in that famous 1980's Barbie doll design, that we're so familiar with. A rainbow of neons, silvers and golds lit up the runway for this show stealing collection.
Stella Jean
If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't blown away by Paris. Maybe it was because my expectations were soooo high, after witnessing the amazing Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana in Milan, but I was rather disappointed here. However, one collection that really stood out to me was Mugler.
Mugler
David Koma made his debut catwalk appearance with this collection as Creative Director for Mugler. As I said earlier, David Koma is fond of the bodycon aesthetic, which can clearly be seen here. Throughout this showcase, we can see, fabulously fitted pieces, enhancing the silhouette with slits and cuts in all the right places. The colour palette is so fresh and sleek, with the use of the simple whites and blacks. The beautiful use of metal pieces add so much to the pieces, making a very simple piece, very desirable. Overall, an excellently minimalist, classy and monochrome collection.

LONDON FASHION WEEK
12th- 16th of September

Burberry Prorsum
The Burberry Prorsum collection was probably my favourite from the London Fashion Week. Christopher Bailey's concept of 'the birds and the bees' was beautiful. Fantastic use of bright vibrant colours degrading throughout the collection really tied all the pieces together.

David Koma
David Koma is known to be very body conscious and makes the most of the silhouette. He seems to have let that go a little in this collection, as we see a softer and simpler look. There are sheer skirts to be seen, along with asymmetric necklines, cut outs and spiral cut tops. I really enjoyed this collection, very straight forward designs with geometrics lines and shapes and simple colour blocking.

Roksanda Ilincic
So Roksanda has dropped the surname and is now going by one name only. In this collection, she married a very geometric and architectural look with block colouring. I've always been a fan of block colours and I really love these pieces. Vibrant pinks, red and blue in contrast with black on these sharp cut pieces is a really clean cut look.

Topshop Unique
I'm a big fan of the Topshop Unique collection. With a restrictive colour range of reds, whites and blacks, the collection embodies a chic IT girl aura. The white poplin romper with statement belt expresses a 'glamour by the seaside' appearance. For the finale, there was a range transparent beaded dresses, the perfect addition to a very smart collection.
Apu Jan
The Apu Jan collection was all very connected and related. Throughout the show we saw kaleidoscope and marbling effect on a range of black and blue materials.
Napsugar Von Bittera
This collection stood out to me as I scrolled the long list of designers showcasing at London Fashion Week. One word for this collection: Androgyny. Fantastic designs throughout the collection, with a tomboy chic, block colours, tank tops and sportswear. A very modern collection, voicing a very prominent trend thats becoming more and more popular.

Next up is Milan... easily my favourite week of the 4 Big Fashion Weeks... for one reason and that reason being Moschino.
MILAN FASHION WEEK
17TH - 22RD OF SEPTEMBER
Moschino
I've been obsessing over Moschino ever since the release of the Autumn/Winter collection inspired by Spongebob Squarepants. Once again they have aced it. Dolce & Gabbana
The Dolce & Gabbana collection was extremely sexy, 'another bejewelled lace smothered, embroidered and floral adorned collection' according to Vogue with a Spanish inspiration. Once again we see a theme of whites, blacks and reds adding to the sensualness of the collection. A fabulous range of beautifully ornate pieces, really making the most of the detailed flamenco style.

Emilio Pucci
Pucci's collection has a very 70's air about it. We see a very 'bohemian and care free' spirit throughout this collection. A wide range of pieces were shown, from plunge-neck crotchet dresses embroidered with flowers, flowing maxi dresses, halter necks, empire lines and many more, all with exotic colours and prints to finish.

Emporio Armani
This collection makes the most the very popular Greek blue, that's so in trend for 2015. A very sharp and chic collection.

Here's a few more collections that really caught my eye on the Milan catwalk:
Fendi
Giorgio Armani
Stella Jean
Versace

Finally to finish off, what seems to be a never-ending blog post, we have the last of the 4 Big Fashion Weeks: Paris. If you somehow managed to make it this far into the post, you're doing good... I'd understand if you'd have given up quite a while ago..I'm quite surprised I didn't.
PARIS FASHION WEEK
23RD OF SEPTEMBER TO 1ST OF OCTOBER
If I'm being completely honest, I wasn't blown away by Paris. Maybe it was because my expectations were soooo high, after witnessing the amazing Moschino and Dolce & Gabbana in Milan, but I was rather disappointed here. However, one collection that really stood out to me was Mugler.

Have a look at the pieces from some other collections, that I thought were quite impressive at the Paris Fashion Week.
