Highlights of the Year | Best Bits of 2016!
Here we are, already two weeks into the new year and as per usual I'm behind schedule and only getting around to doing my best bits of 2016 now!
So 2016, as disastrous of a year as it was internationally, personally I can't help but mark it as one of my most momentous years so far! A lot of things happened throughout the year, various moments of highs and lows, stress and celebration, as well as work and relaxation. Having said that, there were quite a few achievements that looking back on, I can say I'm pretty damn proud of!
So the year started off, with writing a book, well a 6,000 thousand word thesis, but same thing right?
Finally turned 21... (with an incredible cake!)
Half way through final year and we looked like this... Semester 1 Assessment!
Coming to the final few hurdles... and this was the first of my two photoshoots for my degree collection 'Broken Perspective', with the incredible model Maria Coughlan and photographer Aron Cahill
Followed by the highlight of my three years in college... the second shoot of my degree collection taken out at Portmarnock boardwalk, encapsulating exactly what I had envisioned for my collection.
With assessment behind us, we then launched the largest ever NCAD Showcase at the end of June.
And then we were free, which led to the Best Weekend of the Year | V Festival
Then I was blessed with the most incredible opportunity to intern with Gareth Pugh in London for six weeks and work backstage at London Fashion Week.
After two months in London, I returned to Ireland which was soon followed by graduation... a very strange day!
From interning with Gareth Pugh, I was offered the opportunity to work with the incredibly sweet and talented Irish Designer, Alison Conneely, on her upcoming collection 'The Shuttle Hive' for the National Museum of Decorative Arts in Collins Barracks. To this day, I'm still interning with Alison and working as her Assistant Stylist!
So that's 2016 in a nutshell, so much happened that I'm so grateful for and I'm extremely excited for what 2017 has to offer! Lots of exciting content to come, in the coming months.. so hopefully I should be able to get back into this and bring content to you more often! As always any feedback or questions are welcome! Happy New Year!
